Useful Keyboard Shortcuts

There are plenty of keyboard shortcuts in Empower CDS, but I want to share 5 that I find especially powerful and time-saving in daily lab work:

🔹 F1 – Opens the Help window, but not just the main menu. It jumps directly to the relevant Help page for the window you’re working in.

Example: Working in the Integration tab of a processing method and wondering what Peak Width means? Hit F1 – and you’re instantly on the Integration Help page. No menu-hunting.

🔹 Ctrl + D – In tables (like Sample Set Methods or the Component Editor), this copies the value from the current cell down the column.

Quickly fill in repeating values without copy-paste clicks.

🔹 Ctrl + R – Similar to Ctrl + D, but copies the value to the right on the row.

Super handy in the Component Editor when entering Values or Purity.

🔹 Set a Dropline with Ctrl + Left Click – When integrating peaks, move your cursor where you want a dropline, hold Ctrl, and click the left mouse button.

Instant dropline added.

🔹 Remove a Dropline with Ctrl + Left Click – To remove a dropline, bring your cursor to the baseline of the dropline, hold Ctrl, and left-click again.

Do you already use these shortcuts?

💬 Are there any other Empower shortcuts you find useful?

Drop them in the comments – let’s build a list together!
