I had an interesting consulting call with one Empower user yesterday, where I’ve learnt something new. The question was how to calculate Peak Height to Valley Height ratio. Do we need a custom field to do that? 🤔

You don’t need a custom field for this calculation. 🙌 If you have the System Suitability option, Empower calculates the ratio automatically. ⚙️

• Open the “Suitability” tab in your processing method.
• Enable “Calculate Suitability results”.
• Enter the void volume time.

Empower will calculate the ratio of peak height to valley height automatically. 📊

The fields are called Start p/v and End p/v.

Start p/v = height of the peak / valley height at the start of the peak 📈

End p/v = height / valley height at the end of the peak📉

You can find and add these columns via Table Properties in the “Hidden Columns” list. 🗂️
