What is Threshold?

It defines what Empower considers noise and what it considers a peak. So we set this value on a section of your chromatogram that represents baseline noise you want to reject.

👉 Here’s how to set it:

1️⃣ Select a section of the baseline in your chromatogram where no peaks are present.

2️⃣ Click the “Set Processing Method Threshold” button in the toolbar.

The new Threshold value will appear in the box next to the button and will be transferred to the processing method.

3️⃣ Click Integrate to apply the new setting and review the updated integration.

📝 Note:

Just like with Peak Width, other integration parameters still need to be set. This value is a starting point you can fine-tune based on your chromatograms and method requirements.
